I am a 66-year-old gay disabled writer, living and writing in Langley, Slough, Berkshire UK.

I took up writing when I was forced to retire from a career I loved at St. Thomas' Hospital, London in December 1995, and began writing factual articles for magazines in 1996.

My first published article was about my grandfather George Wiseman, who had a horse drawn narrowboat, collecting milk for Cadbury, in the 1920's. 'Chocolate on the Shroppie' was published in Canal and Riverboat magazine. Since then I've had around 50 features published in 20 UK and US leisure magazines.

I met my partner Simon in June 1983 at a pub called the Two Brewers in Clapham High Street, London. On the 11th March 2006 we entered into a civil partnership.

Over the years my health has deteriorated and I can no longer get out and about to research and photograph materials for factual articles.

I decided to write my autobiography which I called 'RESPECT'.

To increase my range of writing skills, I've joined the 'Slough Writers Group' and have found it most interesting and informative.
